Bad, Bad, Bad Man Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Telecasters and Coupe DeVilles, handmade suits.
Paid for thrills.
Just one thang, I want you to understand.
I'm a bad, bad, bad man.
Fought in allies, bled on stage. I am the lion, un-caged
Just one thang, I want you to understand.
Baby, I'm a bad, bad, bad man.
I ain't never been a child. Fast women have wrecked my life.
Wine and whisky is where I wash my clothes. Old Cadillacs are all I own.
Just one thang, I want you to understand.
I'm a bad, bad, bad man.
Blood (Is Thicker Than Mud)
Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
My big brother that was in Vietnam is having flashbacks
So he's got to move back with dad and mom.
Blood is thicker than mud . . .
My 13 year old daughter brought a baby home the other day.
The preacher asked, "What [are] the neighbors gonna say?"
Blood is thicker than mud . . .
My nephew got out of prison the other day.
[He] called me up said, "Uncle, I need a place to stay."
Blood is thicker than mud . . .
The Blues Spares None
Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Well, I tumble. Like a tumble weed
And I roll like a rolling stone.
You'll never see, see me crumble.
And you'll never know the Blues I've known.
Well, my mother's from Mississippi
And my father's from there, too.
Even though I'm from the city. I'm from Mississippi, too.
Well, I tumble. Like a tumble weed
And I roll like a rolling stone.
You'll never see, see me crumble.
And you'll never know the Blues I've known.
You see the young folk and the millionaires
Live their lives under the gun.
You see the Blues takes no prisoners
And the Blues spares none.
Because, I tumble Like a tumble weed
And I roll like a rolling stone.
You'll never see, see me crumble.
And you'll never know the Blues I've known.
Born Too Brown (Part 1)
© Fernando Jones
9/5/18
Every time I get stopped
Though innocent
I’m a thug, a thing,
A thief.
Could that be why
Kaep took a knee?
Be always aware
Aware
No matter what town
If stopped unjust
You may have been
Born too brown.
The Blues was created out of one's rejection of another's self-proclaimed dominance through a doctrine of supremacy expressed in songs of resolve and action. This is what Mr. Kaepernick, a true Bluesman, was standing for when he knelt -- it had nothing to do with the flag, anti-patriotism or the Star Spangled Banner . . . of which dog whistlers seem not to even know the words anyway.
Until you get stopped in your car on your way home, at the whim of a frightened, over zealous “awful sir” with the power of death in his trigger finger, you may not understand our plight and simply think and brand the movement as one of being American-less, ungrateful, filthy rich Black athletes with Afros (who get paid more money from Nike than from their NFL team contract) who are anti-police. Nope. It's about shining the spotlight on wrong. Yes, I, too, have been profiled for being born too brown. Have you?
Born Too Brown (Part 3) by Fernando Jones

Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
The Blues never sleeps
Nor does it rest.
It's cool to get killed on TV,
But wrong to protest.
[You] Go to church,
[And] Get a degree,
[And] Become all you can be.
But when it come to
Being red, white and blue
Y'all don't mean me.
Go to work early
When you work Downtown;
[But] You're the last one to get promoted,
If ever,
When you're born,
When you're born too brown.

I'm goin' down to the bottom to see what I can find.
Well, I aint lookin for no new lady. I'm tryin' to get my old lady off my mind.
Check this out. If it wasn't for wine and whisky I swear my woman would lose her mind. Catch my lady and she aint high [and] she'll talk you to death all night.
Hello yesterday. How did you sleep last night?
Well, I should of left her in the country. She's getting carried away by the city lights.
Leave Your Love at the Door
Performed by Leanne Faine
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Leave your love at the door
(Intro)
Leave your love at the door. (4X)
You got to leave your love whooo-ooo at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave Your love.
You can stay out all night long.
Sit at the bar 'til your bottle is gone.
Watch the game until the final score.
But leave your love, baby, at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
You got to leave it.
Leave Your love at the door.
Leave Your love at the door.
You like to look cute everywhere you go.
You get off when the folk-are looking at you.
I don't care how far you roam.
But leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
You can stay out all night long.
Sit at the bar until the joint is closed.
Watch the Sweet 16 down to the Final Four.
But leave your love, baby, at the door.
You got to leave it . . .
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love..
Leave your love.
You can go to Tokyo and come back speaking German.
Go to Detroit with Earnestine, come back with Herman.
I don't care if life with me's a bore.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love.
Leave your love. at the door.
Leave your love.
You like to look cute everywhere you go.
You get off when the folk-are looking at you.
I don't care how far you roam.
But leave your love at the door.
Leave your love at the door.
Leave your love.
Oil & Water (Don't Mix)
Performed by Nellie Travis
+ Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged, and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
You remind me of a hurricane, but you treat me like a candle in the rain.
I give you money, give you my time, but I know you'll never be mine.
I've tried all of the tricks, Still oil and water don't mix.
I just remembered I don't know your name.
Is it Billy the Kid or Jesse James?
You're so fine But you treat me oh, so mean.
I've tried all of the tricks, oil and water don't mix.
If I was a bottle of glue still I couldn't stick to you.
I might as well be a brick wall because you never call.
I've tried all of the tricks, oil and water don't mix.
You remind me of a hurricane, but you treat me like a candle in the rain.
I give you money, give you my time, but I know you'll never be mine.
I've tried all of the tricks, Still oil and water don't mix.
She’s Got Everything (But A Man)
Performed by Jackie Scott
Written, arranged, and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
She’s got everything any woman could want.
She’s got two big cars and a little mini boat.
She's got diamonds on her fingers, bracelets on her arm.
She's got 50 girlfriends and her own mink farm.
She got more food than the hungry can stand.
Even down in Texas this chic has got land.
She’s got everything that any woman could want.
She’s got two big houses and a jet that floats.
She’s got everything on water and land.
She’s got everything but a man.
She’s got drawings from Picasso’s mama’s house.
She got matching Gucci purses and a Louis Vuitton blouse.
She-got Italian marble in her French style home.
She had the first Rolls Royce with a satellite phone.
She got more shoes than us put together.
If she don’t like the temperature,
She’ll take off and change the weather.
She’s got everything that any woman could want.
She’s got two derby horses and a dancing billy goat.
She’s got everything on water and land.
She’s got everything, everything but a man.
She’s got everything a woman could want.
She got two turntables and a microphone.
She got high healed boots and she’s really, really cute.
She got Ginger Ale and lobster at her photo shoot.
She’s got a SUV and a Cadillac sedan.
She’s got everything, everything but a man.
Don't Mess With My Man
Performed by Nellie Travis
Written, arranged, and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
I'll give you the shirt off my back.
Yes, I will.
And give you the keys to my Cadillac.
But when it comes to love I'm a hurricane.
I said, "When it comes to love don't mess with my man!"
You can talk about me until it makes me shame.
You can lose all of my jewelry in a dice game.
But when it comes to love I'm a hurricane.
I say, "When it comes to love don't mess with my man!"
You can take $100 out of my pocket.
Yes, you can.
And leave me some change to go to the market.
But when it comes to love I'm a hurricane.
I said, "When it comes to love don't mess with my man!"
You can set my mink coat on fire.
And throw it in th rain if that's what you desire.
But when it comes to love I'm a hurricane.
I say, "When it comes to love don't mess with my man!"
In Love With The Blues

I ain't into . . .
Into fancy cars.
And I ain't into . . .
Into rock & Roll Stars.
No, and I ain't into . . .
Into high heel shoes.
I'm just a woman in love
In love with the Blues.
I'm in love with the Blues.
In love with the Blues.
So take your smooth talk
And keep it to yourself.
And take your cool, cool walk
And walk it somewhere else.
Now while you're at it pretty baby
Keep your money, too.
I'm just a woman in love
In love with the Blues.
I'm in love with the Blues.
In love with the Blues.
You can't impress me
With the thing you know.
You can't impress me pretty baby
With the places that you go.
You can't impress me
By making the news.
I'm just a woman in love
In love with the Blues.
I'm in love with the Blues.
In love with the Blues.

I want to spend Xmas with you.
I got my mind made up, and I got you on my mind.
I got some mistletoe, and I got to make you mine.
I want to spend Xmas with you.
I got some fresh egg nog, and a fire all-a-glow.
I got a warm heart and hot cider so let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
I want to spend Xmas with you.
Mama's Prayer
Performed by Fernando Jones

My mother would weep and my mother would moan.
She said, "Lawd, let me live to see my baby get grown."
You can't sing the Blues until you lose the only thing you never thought you'd loose.
My mother would weep and my mother would moan.
She said, "Lawd, let me live to see my baby get grown."

ON TOP
Performed by Foree Superstar
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
I should have never gave you my heart.
Should have known better right from the start.
I never thought I'd see the day you'd turn your back on me.
When you're on the bottom, and I'm on top.
I ain't gonna love you no mo', [but] right now I cain't stop.
Every day's a new day for everybody else.
Today's a blue day you got somebody else.
Can't have a conversation without bringing up your name.
On a sunny day all I see is rain.
When you're on the bottom, and I'm on top.
I ain't gonna love you no mo', [but] right now I cain't stop.
Mama's baby boy. Come on with it, Fernando! Get on down.
That's what I'm talking about. Blues time. Hey! Cain't stop.
You put me out with no place to go. You put me out with 4 feet of snow.
Mama said to put you out. Papa said send you back down South.
When you're on the bottom, and I'm on top.
I ain't gonna love you no mo', [but] right now I cain't stop.
Physical / Baby Please

If I can hold your hand maybe I can be your friend.
Hey, babe, we don't have to be physical. Hey, babe, we could be spiritual.
If I could know your name we don't have to play those games.
Hey, babe, we don't have to be physical. Hey, babe, we could be spiritual.
Santa Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Written, arranged, produced, and performed by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI * Bluesnewz@aol.com
December 24th, and snow is on the ground.
Mama's picking chitterlings in the kitchen sink. Daddy's no where to be found.
Presents are under the tree wrapped up and on the floor,
But Santa doesn't live here any more.
Daddy went to war. He was a fighting man. Wrong place, wrong time.
I'm 9 years old and I'm fighting mad. Don't care who's right, don't care who's wrong.
All I know is Santa doesn't live here any more.
Now it's Christmas morning [and] I should be happy opening presents on the floor.
How can I be happy when Santa doesn't live here any more?
Sometimes I Can't Help Myself

Sometimes I don't want to love you. Sometimes I don't want to think of you,
Sometimes I can't help myself.
Sometimes I don't want to need you. Sometimes I don't want to bleed for you,
Sometimes I can't help myself.
Sometimes I don't want to be true to you. Sometimes I don't want to do the do.
Sometimes I can't help myself.
Sometimes I don't want to show for you. Sometimes I don't want to know you.
Sometimes I can't help myself.
Stars
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Once the music starts hearts come apart, or they rise like the stars. Like the stars.
Hearts that no longer hear somehow sink to levels never before seen.
Then they rise like the stars. Like the stars.
Love that strange enchanting beast just when you think you got it down
You know it least and they'll rise like the stars. Like the stars.
Stranded Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Well, I'm stranded in another woman's heart. She treats me like a dog,
But she holds my ace card. Hey, I'm stranded in another woman's heart.
The only thang that pulled me through was you, baby.
Yeah, Now, I'm puttin' food on another man's plate,
And I eat cold cuts when I get home 'cause I get home to you too late.
Well, I'm stranded in another woman's heart.
The only thang that pulled me through was you, baby.
Yeah. I'm stranded in another woman's heart. She treats me like a dog,
And she holds my ace card. I'm stranded in another woman's heart.
The only thang that pulled' me through was you, baby.
Tracey Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Sometimes she forgets she's beautiful. One look in her amber eyes and see pure soul. One day it'll hit her [just] what she means to me.
She makes me more than by myself I could ever be.
Tracey, I'm crazy. Crazy about you.
Blushing face in her hands on a long distance call.
[She] opens a parcel from a man that she barely knows at all.
She says, "I haven't gotten you anything."
You've taught me how to love unconditionally."
Tracey, I'm crazy. Crazy about you. Crazy about you. Tracey, I'm crazy.
When I first met you I looked deep into you smile.
Never wanting to exploit you [I] just wanted to make you mine.
Three years later in November, on a California Saturday night.
I knew then and there that I wanted you honorably in my life.
Tracey, I'm crazy. Crazy about you. Love at first sight. Love you, I do.
Warriors
Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
When we made love for the first time it was beautiful. Yes, it was.
Now we fight like warriors. Warriors.
The last time [we] made love I had to go to court. Yes, I did.
'Cause my life and our love is in the hands of God and the lawyers.
All we had was good, hey. Now we don't know if we should.
Hey, [the] first time we made love it was beautiful, yes it was.
The last time we made love I had to go to court. Yes I did.
Now we don't make love. We fight like warriors.
Now even if we try to get back together we're talkin' through our lawyers.
Wireless
Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Got me on a chain, baby, and I'm tired. You got me on a chain, baby, and I'm tired.
I wanna be like a telephone. I wanna be wireless.
Treat me like a dog bitin' at your apron strings..
Treat me like a dog bitin' at your apron strings.
I wanna be like a laptop computer, baby. I wanna be wireless and thru with you.
I wanna be wireless, baby.
Sock it to me. Got me on a string and I'm tired.
Got me on a string and I wanna be wireless. Wanna be, wanna be, wanna be, wanna be. I didn't believe you were from New Orleans 'till you put a root on me.
Your Must Be Brothers
Performed by Fernando Jones
Written, arranged and produced by Fernando Jones
Bluefunkjazroll Music, BMI | BluesNewz@aol.com
Jazzman, Jazzman, why don't you sing the one about the man who loved the woman
Who didn't love herself?
Jazzman, Jazzman, why don't you sing that one about the woman who loved a man,
And he up and left?
I look as l listen. Your words, they hypnotize.
I hang on every note. I listen to your instrument's eyes.
Bluesman, Bluesman, sing me a low down, sing me a low down dirty Blues.
Sing me the one about [the] little boy with two left shoes born to lose.
Bluesman, Bluesman, sing me the one about how everyone's got more than you,
And how most certainly you have paid your dues.
I look as l listen. Your words, they hypnotize.
I hang on every note. I listen to your instrument's eyes.
Spiritual man, Spiritual man, sing me the one about the lost angels.
Because Spiritual man, I want you to sing the song about Stealin' Away.
Or can I ask you to sing the one about "have all the lil' children heard?"
How about singin' the one askin' all God's children, "Have you heard the word?"
I look as l listen. Your words, they hypnotize.
I hang on every note I listen to your instrument's eyes.
